According to reports from Le10 Sport, Arsenal are interested in signing PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe.
One of the best defenders in France, Kimpembe is an integral player for PSG and has been so for the past year or two. The centre-back joined the club’s senior team in 2014 and has since made 112 appearances for the club, scoring a goal and providing an assist. Kimpembe’s first and till date, only goal came this season against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Arsenal need to bolster their squad if they are to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool next season and a centre-back is the club’s top priority.
Unai Emery is a huge admirer of Kimpembe who became a regular at PSG under Emery. Kimpembe could also leave PSG since there is a good chance that the club might sign Matthijs de Ligt
However, the one thing that is a concern for Arsenal is the transfer fee. Several reports claim that Arsenal have a transfer budget of only €40 million. A move for Kimpembe may not cost Arsenal €40 million but it’ll certainly cost them a price which may put Arsenal at an inability to sign any more quality players.
