Unai Emery played down reports of Arsenal pursuing a permanent deal for Dani Ceballos.
The Real Madrid midfielder arrived on loan this season and has really impressed in the Arsenal colours.
He was once again noticeable in last night’s 3-2 win over Vitoria SC, clearly benefitting from the regular playing time he is receiving under Emery. Reports emerged this week that Arsenal had submitted a €25-30m but Real Madrid are holding out for a €35m bid.
“I think it is too soon to say,” Emery said when asked about a potential handover. “Ceballos is doing great things here, he is playing regularly. Of course, I know he has a lot of potential and I think this is just the start for him.
“We need to recognize that all players need time to adapt to the Premier League. He’s in that process and I really want to accelerate it. He had some good games, sometimes it’s not been easy for him. I think that’s normal. But again, I think it is too early to talk about incorporating him in different conditions.”
Dani Ceballos has his heart set on returning to Madrid after proving himself in England for a year.
