Unai Emery has hailed Aaron Ramsey after the midfielder inspired Arsenal to a 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
The Gunners moved into the third position dethroning their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the points table. Ramsey was looking in good touch and dictated the tempo of the game from the middle of the pitch.
The Welsh midfielder opened the scoring with a fine finish just at the stroke of the 30th minutes. Alexandre Lacazette then sealed three points with a cheeky lob over Magpies keeper Martin Dubravka.
Ramsey’s relationship with Emery seems to have developed over the last few days as the midfielder had looked to be a surplus to requirements.
The 28 year old signed a pre-contract with Juventus in January and will end his long 10 year association with the Gunners once the season ends.
Emery said, “I think Aaron Ramsey is happy, he is helping us and is playing with a very big performance and we need that, with him scoring.
“Each energy from the players is very important for us and he is doing that. He is giving us his quality, his energy, his behaviour to push.
We know and he knows we are in the most important moment of the season and we need the players and also the players who are starting on the bench [to make an impact].”
