Arsenal manager Unai Emery has praised defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Gunners drew against Spurs at Wembley on Saturday after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his penalty saved by Hugo Lloris.
Emery was particularly pleased with way Sokratis played on Saturday. The Greek defender started at centre-back and produced a fine display.
Following the match, Emery said, “His progress is very important for this performance and I think today he played well. But in the last matches he is coming with his best confidence in himself, for using his skills and his capacity to help us and he has experience to continue improving his progress with us, like today.”
After drawing against Spurs, Arsenal next take on Rennes in the first leg of their Europe League last 16 tie on Thursday. This will be the first time Arsenal play the Ligue 1 team.
