Unai Emery has vented his anger after Ainsley Maitland-Niles received the marching order in Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Leicester City.

The youngster got an early booking for his foul on Ben Chilwell and referee Michael Oliver showed him the second yellow after he tried to recover a ball from James Maddison.

The incident compelled an angry reaction from Emery who threw his jacket in frustration. The Gunners have now lost three matches in a row for the first time in the top flight this season.

Jamie Vardy continued his blistering as the forward netted a brace while Youri Tielemans added another as the Foxes kept their European hopes alive.

Emery said, “I don’t agree with the decision because for me the key is the first yellow card and it’s very clear it was not [a yellow].

“But we are both playing with the referee and he decided that and for us it’s not a good decision

“It did change it a lot to play with one player less because we prepared with our gameplan to be strong defensively, but with the red card the plan changed.”
