The manager have added five players this summer
Unai Emery was appointed as Arsenal’s new manager back in May after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years at the end of the season. He signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.
The Gunners finished sixth in the Premier League last season and will miss the Champions League next season. The Spaniard has been charged with the task of returning the club to the European elite while challenging for major honours.
It has been a busy transfer for the Premier League giants, as the new boss has brought in new five players, reinforcing the particular areas which needed strengthening to compete for major silverware next season.
Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund and Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus.
Before the transfer deadline, former Paris Saint-Germain boss revealed that he is not looking for any more additions and is completely satisfied with the new additions.
However, with the Premier League window closed Emery has revealed he will only allow Carl Jenkinson, David Ospina and Joel Campbell to leave the club this month as European leagues can still do business until the end of the month.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City, the 46 year old said: “[On Thursday] the window closed here in the Premier League.
“We only have three players – Carl Jenkinson, David Ospina and Joel Campbell – with the possibility to leave.
“But the other players are with us and we are going to work in the Emirates the day before the match with all the players.
“Only two young players are going to play tomorrow with the Under-23s against Manchester City away; Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.
