Emery was chosen to become Arsenal’s first new manager in 22 years and he faces an uphill task of returning the club back to the top of English football.
The Gunners have spent very heavily in the past few transfer windows and are understood to have a transfer budget of around £60m.
And Pundit Emannuel Petit does not expect Emery to be able to make much of an impact with that level of financial backing.
Petit:
“When I hear about the amount of money Emery has to spend, I can’t believe it. Where are you going with £60m? You’re going nowhere.”
Arsenal are to set to play in the Europa League next season and might not strengthen the squad heavily.
