Watford winger, Gerard Deulofeu reportedly has convinced Denis Suarez to opt for a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign Suarez on loan this month with the option to buy him back next summer for around £20m. The 25-year-old is no longer in the plans of Ernesto Valverde and the Catalan giants are seemingly more eager to ship him out of the Camp Nou after finalising the transfer of Kevin Prince-Boateng.
A Barcelona-based newspaper revealed that Deulofeu has played his part in convincing one of his former teammates to take the leap to English football. The two footballers shared the pitch back during their time at Sevilla under Unai Emery himself and even for the Spanish U21 side.
Deulofeu and Suarez were reportedly neighbours in Seville and has remained close friends to this day. The former is a graduate of the La Masia academy but has spent of his professional career in England with Everton and currently, Watford. He told Denis, via text to opt for Arsenal due to the club’s promise of success.
Arsenal could potentially sign Denis Suarez ahead of the next Tuesday Premier League fixture against Cardiff City as the final week of the January transfer window rolls around.
