The Gunners are 11th in the Premier League table and has a good enough chance of getting knocked out of Europe this week.
After a summer of heavy recruitments, fans expected Arsenal to be better off or even challenging for the top four once again. So far, that has not been the case in over a year under Arteta.
Spanish football expert, Graham Hunter said on the Transfer Window Podcast, “If Arsenal screw it up, and are infantile enough to get rid of Arteta, it’ll be about 6 to 8 months after that we’ll be saying, what a job Arteta is doing at whichever club he takes on next. He’s exceptional.”
Despite the recent results, Arteta definitely has admirers across all channels of football. Plenty of fans are still behind him and the club quite clearly thinks the Spaniard is their ticket to the future.
To be fair, it has only been just over a year under the Spaniard and Arsenal still need to make improvements to the squad. There are plenty of players who are either ageing, on sizeable contracts or who simply don’t fit into Arteta’s system.
