Miguel Azeez, a promising Arsenal player, is about to sign a permanent deal with Wigan Athletic, a struggling team in the Championship
After a rocky start to his tenure at the DW Stadium, Latics head coach Kolo Toure is actively seeking out new players. Since the Ivorian arrived, the club has fallen to the bottom of the Championship standings.
Additionally, Toure is thought to have reached an agreement to sign Azeez in order to bolster his midfield. The 20-year-old has only made one senior appearance for Arsenal, which came in a Europa League match against Dundalk in 2020. In 2021, he moved on his first loan to Portsmouth.
Azeez hasn’t demonstrated much at the senior level in his career thus far, but Wigan appear to be signing him based on his potential.
Azeez wasn’t expected to succeed at the Emirates Stadium despite being highly regarded a few years ago due to his struggles throughout his loan stints. In light of this, a transfer to a team like Wigan, where he should have possibilities to shine, might be advantageous for his future.
Azeez will need to do a lot more than he has thus far to establish his ability to compete at the Championship level, but given Wigan’s recent performance, this may happen sooner than anticipated.
