Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is keen to move on this summer with Arsenal being touted at his preferred destination.
The 26-year-old resuscitated his career after he rejoined Crystal Palace from Manchester United. Having impressed for the Eagles last season, the Ivory Coast striker is back in demand, with the Gunners keen on signing him.
Arsenal have already offered to pay £40m for Zaha but Palace him holding out £80m – a price tag he is unworthy of, according to former Gunners striker Paul Mariner.
When asked whether Zaha to Arsenal was a possible deal, he said,
“Never, it’s never going to happen. The reason for that is Crystal Palace can dig their heels in because of his contract.”
“They’re quite right to ask for this type of money. Do I think he’s worth it? Absolutely not.”
“Would he fit into this Arsenal side? I’m not quite sure. I think there’s inconsistencies with a player that’s going to be costing something like £80m.”
“Arsenal don’t seem to have that type of money to bring him in, hence them looking at other players in those areas. No, not for me.”
