Former young prospect at the Arsenal academy, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, expresses heartfelt sentiments about his time there
His 19-year voyage comes to an end as he gets ready to say farewell, with mixed feelings and many memories.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles expressed strong emotional ties to the club he has been a part of since he was just six years old as he got ready to start a new chapter in his career. He couldn’t help but reflect on his time with Arsenal as he did so as he did so.
Following the termination of his contract, the 25-year-old’s affiliation with the organisation will come to an end.
It has been nothing short of amazing for him to go from being a six-year-old at Arsenal’s Hale End academy to making his first-team debut shortly after turning 17 in December 2014. He made 132 appearances, scored three goals, and played a significant role in the team’s FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs in 2020.
He accepted the end of his stint with Arsenal with a heavy heart. But the connections and friendships forged over the years have left a lasting impression. While at Arsenal, he not only improved as a footballer but also established relationships that would last a lifetime. The midfielder, who spent Southampton’s whole 2017–18 campaign on loan, declared that he will always cheer for Arsenal from a distance. He wishes his old teammates the best as he looks ahead to his future.
