Former Manchester United player, Andrei Kanchelskis has predicted that Alexis Sanchez would not mind a move back to his former club, Arsenal.

Plenty of news threads have picked up on the Ukranian’s thoughts mostly due to his accurate analysis of Sanchez’s conundrum. He was quoted, “Sanchez was the main man at Arsenal, but he’s just another player at United and he hasn’t been able to adapt to that. He was loved by the Arsenal fans and got to be their idol, which pumped him with confidence every week, but with other major stars around him at United, he is failing to meet expectations.”

Sanchez’s magnanimous move to Old Trafford has turned out to be a worse affair than his three-season sporadic stint with Barcelona. He has found the back of the net just once this season and might no longer be in the good graces of Jose Mourinho.

Younger and more enthusiastic studs like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been given fairer odds for their selection especially with the Chilean ruled out till the new year with a hamstring injury.

Arsenal are yet to sign a replacement for Sanchez but Unai Emery has kept busy in drawing down leads. While the 29-year-old winger might still be at his athletic prime, it is unsure whether he will be warmly welcomed back into the Emirates.

Taking on his £391,000-a-week contract is a huge stumbling block, not to mention United’s possible demands as far as transfer fees go. Maybe Emery is better off chasing younger and cheaper options that he can develop into his own style of play at North London.
