Arsenal Approach Inter Milan For 29-Year-Old Croatian Winger

BBC reporter, David Ornstein has made claims regarding Arsenal interest in Inter Milan winger, Ivan Perisic.

The report states that the Gunners have already approached Inter with a loan offer for the Croatian which will include a buy-back clause worth £35m. It is also understood that Perisic is not against a move away from San Siro after only signing a contract extension in the summer of 2017.

The 29-year-old is destined to play for the Nerazzurri till the summer of 2022 unless Unai Emery’s offer gets accepted in the coming days. We are in the final week of the January transfer window and Arsenal are yet to make any additions to the squad.

Emery has been dealt another injury blow this weekend with Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis Papastathopoulas taken off the pitch in the 1-3 FA Cup defeat against Manchester United. The predicted loan move for Denis Suarez also broke off in the final stages with the Gunners faithful earning for a midfield and a defensive addition.

Adding Perisic will certainly offer more to Arsenal’s attacking lineup. The North London outfit require a winger to stretch the floor and deliver balls into the opposition box, something Perisic is very skilled at.

However, spending £35m on an outfield player who is about to turn 30 and has no resale value could raise some concerns among the Arsenal faithful. Perisic is wanted by rivals, Manchester United as well.
