Arsenal Are Looking At Bruno Guimares As Potential Granit Xhaka Replacement

According to the latest reports, Arsenal are seriously interested in Athletico Paranaense midfielder, Bruno Guimares.

The Gunners are obviously joined by a host of European outfits for the 22-year-old – Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Chelsea to name a few.

Guimares has already voiced his wishes to play in Europe some day which rules out a potential move to Brazilian club, Flamengo. Atletico and Benfica currently don’t have the free flow of funds to compete for Guimares and Chelsea are looking more into attacking profiles.

The midfielder usually operates from the deep roles, filling in defensively and in the team’s build up. He could be the perfect man to replace Granit Xhaka if the Swede were  to leave for Hertha Berlin as revealed before. Mikel Arteta came out and rubbished claims that Xhaka could be off for Germany.

The 26-year-old has been performing well under the Spaniard and Arsenal are eager to keep him on. However, signing potential cover for the position is not illogical either. Arsenal currently are short-numbered in a lot of positions.

Guimares is a talented midfielder who has already won a number of trophies with the South American outfit. The only problem of signing him would be getting him a work VISA. This issue has presented itself before with English clubs, making them question quick transfers altogether.
