Serge Gnabry Open To Arsenal Return

According to Sports Boom, Mikel Arteta is urging Arsenal to finalise a “shock” deal to re-sign Bayern Munich striker Serge Gnabry this summer.

The Gunners have had a great season, but they are fighting to escape going without a trophy. They are leading the Premier League by three points, having played one more game than Man City, and they are playing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinals.

However, following some difficulties in front of goal from open play, the team is eager to bolster its roster for the upcoming campaign, and a move to relocate Gnabry to north London has suddenly surfaced as a potential option.

The term “holding pattern” effectively conveys the tone. The discussion is completely changed by Gnabry’s absence until July 2026. Clubs are now examining a “strategic recovery project” rather than a player prepared to participate in preseason activities.

This situation has a built-in tension. Although Gnabry’s family history provides comfort, his physical state raises concerns. This absence raises valid concerns regarding longevity and adaptability for a player whose game depends on rapid mobility.

Arsenal Want to Re-Sign Gnabry

Gnabry was a regular under Vincent Kompany this season until an injury ended his season early. Earlier this year, he signed a new deal earning £265,000 per week at Bayern, which runs until 2028.

However, Bayern is also eager to change up their offensive options, and as Gnabry is already in his 30s and earning a high salary, he may be let go to make room for new players.

The Germany international, who came through the system but only made 18 appearances for the main squad before leaving for Werder Bremen in 2016, is reportedly seen by Arteta as “the one that got away” at the club.

Due to the player’s injury, Arsenal is not in a rush to close a deal early in the transfer window because they want to see how he recovers first. However, they intend to closely monitor his rehabilitation over the summer before making a move, and “leaked information” from within the club suggests that he is at the top of their shortlist.
