Martin Zubimendi Prepares to Demand Arsenal Exit in January
The Spanish midfielder is still waiting for his first start of the season, despite Arsenal competing in the Champions League, the Community Shield, and the Premier League.
Last season, Zubimendi was one of the first names on the team sheet as Arsenal won the league title and reached the finals of the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
The club hailed him as a transformative signing, and his midfield performances offered the team safety and stability.
However, he spent much of Spain’s World Cup campaign on the bench behind Rodri. He returned to the Emirates hoping to secure more game time.
That opportunity has not arrived. Zubimendi has remained on the bench, even when new signing Bruno Guimaraes has not started matches.
According to Football365, the World Cup winner will ask for a transfer in January if his situation does not change.
Arsenal refused to consider a sale last summer, when Chelsea and Real Madrid expressed interest. The club could now open the door for him to leave at the end of this year.
Losing a player once regarded as a transformative signing would represent a major decision for Arsenal, especially after his important role last season.
The next few months could prove crucial for Zubimendi. His future at the Emirates may depend on whether he can finally secure regular opportunities in the Arsenal team.
