Arsenal keeping tabs on Dominic Solanke as potential replacement

Arsenal targets Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez as key alternative to Ivan Toney

Arsenal is evidently interested in Feyenoord sensation Santiago Gimenez as an appropriate alternative for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

The North London team, which now has a number of attacking talents like Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah, and Kai Havertz, is looking for a consistent goal-scorer to help them win the Premier League.

The 22-year-old Mexican international Santiago Gimenez has been identified as a top target for Mikel Arteta’s team, with a potential fee of over £60 million. If this figure is reached, Gimenez will become Arsenal’s fourth most expensive signing in history.

The young striker has recently proven himself as one of Europe’s most reliable goal scorers, amassing 31 Eredivisie goals in 2023. Additionally, this achievement beats Luis Suarez’s yearly record of 30 with Ajax in 2009.

Ruud Gullit, a well-known Dutch football player, has expressed his support for Gimenez’s likely move to the Emirates Stadium, seeing the prodigious striker as a great fit for Arsenal’s attacking lineup.

Ruud Gullit stated. “I think Santiago Gimenez would be a good fit for Arsenal as Feyenoord play similar football. He’d be used to that and it’d be easier for him to fit in.

“Chelsea are searching for identity at the moment, and Gimenez would be arriving into a struggling team. I’d rather go to a team that knows exactly what they have to do.

“Of course, I hope he’s the guy to give Chelsea what they need. I don’t know what Chelsea are at the moment!”

As transfer rumors swirl, Arsenal’s pursuit of Gimenez shows their steadfast dedication to acquiring the potency required for a title-challenging season this season.
