Arsenal asked to stay away from PSG's Kurzawa

Football pundit and former Arsenal player Gilles Grimandi has asked Arsenal not to take in Laywin Kurzawa as a left-back.

Grimandi states that is due to him not wanting enough to grow as a footballer.

“Would I have signed Kurzawa?” Grimandi said on Late Football Club. “No. I watched him at Monaco, I think that he is a boy who has quality, a boy who certainly has the potential to be one of the best in his position, but sadly he is lacking in certain areas.

“I don’t see him improving, I don’t see him as a boy who has the hunger to attain the highest level. For Arsenal, he does not have the profile that matches the club’s project.

“There are youngsters who are coming up, he is already a certain age. I don’t see the point in Arsenal getting Kurzawa.”

However, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel does not want to let go of Kurzawa (yet) from the club and has hopes of keeping him back, let alone transferring him to Arsenal as a left-back.

“We need Layvin,” Tuchel said in a news conference ahead of PSG’s clash with Lorient on Sunday. “I have not spoken with him about a departure, nor anybody else.

“We have Juan [Bernat] starting on the left and Layvin behind him. Layvin has played well recently, trained well and it is up to him to show what he can do.

“If he is healthy, he will play against Lorient, he is an important player in this position.”
