According to The Mirror, Arsenal have enquired about Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno.
Mikel Arteta is preparing for major business this summer and one of them could be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s exit.
After a very poor 2019/20 season and exit from the Europa League, Aubameyang is left pondering about his future at North London. While he is the second-highest earner at the club, his contract is due to end in June 2021. Arsenal cannot afford another Aaron Ramsey-disaster and might be forced to sell him unless he agrees to a new deal.
Aubameyang is also nearing the twilight of his career at 31 and might consider winning silverware elsewhere. Arsenal are not in the strongest position to promise him anything since they are pretty much a work-in-progress. The Gunners have already started preparing for his exit as reports continue to link them to several strikers.
Donyell Malen, an Arsenal academy graduate is making an impression with PSV Eindhoven. He is being strongly linked with a recall to North London. Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic are also on the Gunners’ shortlist.
Rodrigo was recently a target of Barcelona and even came close to signing for them in January. The deal broke off at the very end. The Spaniard does not promise a great scoring tally, having only registered two seasons with over 15 goals. What he is capable of is playing across any position in the final third.
