Arsenal are reportedly considering a swoop for Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata.

Mata’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season although efforts are being made to renew his service there is a very good chance of him leaving the Old Trafford in the summer.

Mata hasn’t been involved much since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the charge following the ouster of Jose Mourinho and if the present situation doesn’t improve he would definitely be looking elsewhere where he could have more game time under his belt.

Unai Emery has been on the lookout for some cheap deals to strengthen his side due to the shortage of funds and is very keen to reunite with his former disciple. Mata enjoyed a great time under Emery at Valencia and the Arsenal manager wants to use his service once more.

Barcelona are also believed to be pretty interested in the attacker. Despite his growing age, Mata remains one of the most talented players across Europe and the Catalan giants could make an attempt in the summer.

The Red Devils must be aware of the player’s demand and are likely to offer him an improved contract to extend the association beyond his current contract.
