Arsenal explores untapped talent in pursuit of Rennais’ Ibrahim Salah
Arsenal are focusing on Stade Rennes’ growing star, Ibrahim Salah, in a strategic attempt to improve their attacking power. Arsenal has sent scouts to closely examine the 22-year-old Moroccan winger in search of untapped potential.
Salah, who joined Rennes in January, has scored six goals in 16 games this season, proving his ability both centrally and on the flanks.
While the Gunners have been associated with high-profile attackers in the past, their search of Salah represents a more subtle approach to improving their offensive lineup.
Speaking to L’Equipe, it seems a lot of his hope has since been realised.
Maurice said: “He is a player that we have been following for several months and who has shown very good things in the Belgian Championship.
“He doesn’t have a lot of experience but we are going to see a player with incredible energy. He wants to work, to progress, he has this fire and this desire to move forward.
“He’s a very good player, he’s fast, he’s technically good, he can play on one side or in the middle.”
Salah’s excellent performances in Ligue 1 and the Europa League have drawn the interest of prominent clubs such as Lille and Valencia, despite his youth.
The move is consistent with Mikel Arteta’s long-term strategy for the team, since Salah is considered as a possibility who may not produce quick results but might give essential competition in various offensive spots.
Although Arsenal has been a breeding ground for established stars, the club understands the value of developing young players. Salah’s deal might be an accolade to a potential star signing in the coming summer transfer window.
Salah appears as an appealing possibility poised to make his impact on the Premier League stage as the Gunners vary their options.
