David Raya opens up his relationship with teammate Aaron Ramsdale.

The Spaniard goalkeeper arrived from Brentford on a season-long loan and has replaced Aaron Ramsdale as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Raya has played 13 of his side’s last 14 Premier League games and five Champions League appearances this season, keeping eight clean sheets.

The goalkeeping situation at Arsenal has led to speculation about Ramsdale’s future who is unhappy with his current role at the Emirates.

The 28-year-old keeper has faced criticism for his sloppy glovework including in the 4-3 win over Luton Town.

David Raya has discussed about his relationship with Ramsdale and claimed the competition remains healthy between them.

Raya said on the club’s official website: “It’s a big thing when another goalie comes to a club. Aaron had a magnificent season last year so I’m just here to help the team to win the games when the gaffer puts me in.

“My relationship with Aaron is really good. We’re teammates and try to make each other better in every single session. We don’t try to hear what the outside world is saying, just focus on the team.”
