Arsenal Facing Stiff Competition From AC Milan For Dani Ceballos

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Dani Ceballos is diminishing with each passing day.

Other than Real Madrid hesitating to let him leave on loan, AC Milan are starting to offer strong competition to the Gunners.

Ceballos was a grand success at the Emirates last season, playing a crucial role in midfield and helping Arsenal to the FA Cup trophy. Mikel Arteta grew more and more fond of the player as the season progressed. He clearly wants Ceballos back at North London for another season at least, before Arsenal can sign him on permanently.

Real Madrid have banked on that idea to raise the 24-year-old’s price or possibly even keep him for themselves. Raul Sanllehi was leading the negotiations from Arsenal’s end but he has been fired and Vinai Venkatesham is in charge now. AC Milan wants to take advantage of the London drama and secure the player for themselves.

If the Rossoneri can come in with a convincing bid, Real Madrid are more than likely to accept. Ceballos, after all, does not feature too high on Zinedine Zidane’s books. Arsenal’s best hopes of retaining the Spaniard could only be through how much he enjoyed his first season at the Emirates.
