According to reports, Arsenal has made a €40 million bid to the agent of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić

The contract for Sergej Milinković-Savić expires in 2024, and he reportedly intends to depart Lazio after this campaign. Arsenal is one of the teams interested in the player, according to reports from Italy, and Premier League clubs have expressed the most definite intentions to sign him.

Even though they tried to acquire him in January and the summer before, Arsenal is reportedly the favourite to sign Milinković-Savić this coming summer. According to reports, Milinković-Savić favours a transfer during the upcoming summer transfer window over leaving on a free transfer in 2024 because he wants to leave Lazio without “significant damage to the club.”

He could be forced to remain another year by the Lazio club president, but doing so runs the risk of losing him for nothing. Although there are rumours that the player is eager to join Real Madrid, there are currently no connections between the two groups.

When he was still playing for Genk, Milinković-Savić was first connected to Arsenal about eight years ago. He ultimately transferred to Lazio for €12 million.

The midfielder, who will turn 28 on February 27, 2023, has contributed to six goals and eight assists in 30 games across all competitions this season. His market worth is around €60 million, though Lazio may demand up to €100 million to let him go.
