Arsenal keeping tabs on Dominic Solanke as potential replacement

Arsenal eyes Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko in January transfer window

In the upcoming January transfer window, Arsenal is said to be interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as a potential striker addition in the upcoming January transfer window. The Gunners have allegedly received an edge in their hunt of the Slovenian striker, who is in need of a big target-man to lead their attack.

According to sources, Sesko is interested in joining Arsenal in the Premier League in January, and agents have already contacted interested clubs. This season, the 20-year-old has found himself lower in the pecking order, with Lois Openda taking place ahead of him in many matches.

Sesko, who signed a high-profile £55 million deal with Leipzig in 2022, has started just three Bundesliga matches out of 16, spending most of his time on the bench. This season, the striker has only made two starts in the Champions League.

Sesko is presumably thinking a loan move with a requirement to buy, dependent on meeting specific requirements, in order to obtain more playing time. With Slovenia qualifying for Euro 2024, the young attacker is keen for more playing time to solidify his place as the country’s primary striker.

Scouts who are familiar with Sesko’s playing say that it is appropriate to the demands of top-level English football. Arsenal and other competitors are keeping a careful eye on the situation as the January transfer window gets closer, anticipating a possible upgrade to their offensive options with their purchase of the promising Slovenian forward.
