One more player reported to be on Arsenal’s radar is Moussa Diaby.
This could very well be the end result of Diaby’s excellent performance against Werder Bremen soon after the restart of Bundesliga football.
The 20-year-old has been in good form this season, scoring 5 and providing 8 assists in 27 appearances. Bayer Leverkusen signed him in 2019 and have slowly built him up to be one of their leading wingers. Diaby’s services could cost around €30m which seems a bit excessive in the current climate.
Arsenal already spent a considerable amount of money last season on the wings, bringing in Nicolas Pepe and youngster, Gabriel Martinelli. With the added rise of academy graduates, Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Saka, there is little to no need of further investment in the area.
Where the Gunners need to be focusing their energy on is strengthening the midfield and centre-back positions. The club currently has a string of centre-halfs on payroll but none of them are competent enough for the big leagues. An exodus of talents is expected for the summer while new faces are brought in, according to the fancy of Mikel Arteta.
Transfer rumours are sprouting up out of nowhere right now and this could very well be just another. Le10Sport claims that Arsenal have a good relationship with Diaby’s agent and enquires have already been made. Is that really true? Who can tell?
