Wolves star forward Diogo Jota has been under Arsenal’s radar for a while now and he seems to be a perfect fit for their team rebuilding process.
Since January, Jota picked up pace massively when playing for the Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo – compared to his slow beginning at the start of the season. He scored seven goals in only nine appearances!
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has expressed the need for a new wide forward, and has personally been keeping tabs on the 23-year old Portuguese international.
Jorge Mendes is currently representing Jota and is becoming an important name at Arsenal. Mendes has also overseen the signings of the likes of Nicolas Pépé and Cédric Soares – who arrived in the winter transfer window this year.
However, if any deal regarding Jota does go through, Wolves owe a portion of the transfer to Atletico Madrid. Thus, this would then propel Wolves to ask for an extra £50m for the forward.
Other than Jota, Arteta also has his eye on Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. Further, William Saliba will be on his way back to the Gunners this summer after his loan contract expires with Saint-Etienne.
