According to reports, Unai Emery and Arsenal have identified an alternative for Celtic defender Kieran Tieran. Tierney is being chased by Arsenal, however, the fee for the player is proving to be a major stumbling block for the Gunners.
Celtic are holding out the 22-year-old defender for £25m, a price tag Arsenal are reluctant to meet, given the meagre transfer funds that have been given to Emery this summer. Added to that, they are also facing stiff competition from Napoli for the Irishman’s signature.
As a result, the Gunners are now looking at AC Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez as another option. Unlike Tierney, he could be available for as little as £14m.
Rodriguez joined Milan in 2017 and has cemented a starting spot in his two years at the club. New boss Marco Giampaolo is said to be open to the idea of selling the player this summer.
