Arsenal in the race to sign Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Gunners take the pole position in the race to sign Frenchman Moussa Diaby.

The 23-year-old has spent four years with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and bagged 49 goals and 48 assists in 172 games.

Arsenal tried to make a move in the January transfer window but Leverkusen were reluctant to let him go.

Mikel Arteta looking to add a versatile attacker to his squad if possible in the summer.

But Newcastle United are also interested in signing him, with the Magpies now leading Arsenal in the race, according to a report by The Sun.

However, a L’Equipe report explains that Arsenal have moved themselves into pole position to sign the French winger.

Diaby has scored 14 goals for the Bundesliga side last season and made 11 assists.

Leverkusen demands around £65m for Diaby whose contract currently runs until the summer of 2025.
