Arsenal are planning to sign a new defender and Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy is on the radar ahead of the summer transfer window. As per reports of the French outlet L’Equipe, the Gunners are one of the clubs interested in recruiting him.
The La Liga leaders are planning to get the signature of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. They are fine to release Mendy as his contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The North London club are monitoring the situation but they will also face the competition with Liverpool and Newcastle United. The 28-year-old would eye a Premier League move in the summer.
Napoli are also targeting the Real Madrid star but Arsenal are frontrunners. They have already confirmed their place in the Champions League and they are still in the race to win the Premier League trophy.
Arsenal are aware of the conditions of summer signing Jurrien Timber who is yet to make a comeback due to ACL injury. The full-back is a department Arsenal are looking to strengthen ahead of next season.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is also likely to move from the club and Mendy has been identified as a potential replacement.
