Arsenal Interested In Unhappy Juventus Defender

Italian news sources claim Juventus defender, Merih Demiral is pushing for a move out of the Serie A outfit.

They also state that Arsenal are interested, owing to their obvious defensive issues in recent times.

Demirah has made just one appearance this season after arriving from Sassuolo only last summer. Maurizio Sarri has chosen to go with Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt at the heart of his defence, leaving no place for the 21-year-old to find regular game time.

Arsenal or even Manchester United could offer him that and he is “banging his fists on the table” to leave Turin. According to Bleacher Report, both Premier League sides are interested but the Old Lady are not too keen on selling him.

They just acquired him and believe the player could turn good in the future. Perhaps a loan deal would more favourable for all parties. Demirah needs playing time and Arsenal need to strengthen their backline before William Saliba arrives from his loan spell next summer.

As far as we have seen till now, David Luiz is not the answer to the Gunners’ defensive problems. Unai Emery himself has failed to address the problem through tactical adaptation and the only short-term answer right now would be to find better talent.
