Arsenal have a tough choice on their hands this summer.
Having almost secure the signing of Willian on a free transfer, the club’s wage bill is considerably high already. They are also planning to offer an improved contract to the club captain Aubameyang and sign a big player in defense or defensive midfield this summer.
Hence, Arteta might have no option but to let go of Alexandre Lacazette this summer. Lacazette has not fared brilliantly under Arteta as he has been left out for many matches and when called upon performed only in bits and pieces. It is being reported that Arteta wants to sell him and use the money to fund other transfers and maybe even get in a new attacker!
They might have an option now with Juventus keen on the French striker. The Bianconeri are looking at striking reinforcements and Lacazette would come in handy for them. However, Juventus are not keen on a cash deal and instead want to offer a swap deal for the player by giving Arsenal Douglas Costa.
The Gunners already have considerable attacking talent on the right wing but a pacey winger like Costa can play on either side and would be a great asset to have on the team to come on as an impact sub at the least!
