Gabriel Jesus failed to find the back of the net in his last eight games.

The Brazilian attacker made a bright start to his Arsenal campaign this year but is now struggling for goals.

He extended his dry patch in front of goal to eight games last night.

Jesus captained the Arsenal side for the first time last night and Arsenal legend Martin Keown praises for his contribution to Arteta’s side.

‘I think he [Jesus] is a fantastic leader and role model at the club, he was the player of the narrative story as he played the centre forward role,’ he said.

‘If you look at the rest of the team it was stripped out as the manager wanted to rest as many players as possible with a really big game coming up against Chelsea.

‘No one should question his effort and commitment because he is giving 100 per cent to the cause.

‘He thinks about the team, but he does need to start scoring goals. However, Arsenal are winning at the moment and perhaps he gets that goal on the weekend.’
