According to the latest reports, Arsenal are looking to extend Dani Ceballos’ loan deal by one more season.
It is no secret that the Gunners would like to keep Ceballos permanently but they are not trying to push that motion just yet.
The midfielder himself has expressed a desire to return to Madrid and fight his way into the Galacticos starting lineup. However, he also revealed how happy he is at North London and under Unai Emery.
Ceballos’ loan deal did not include a buy-back clause and Arsenal are looking to amend that. The 23-year-old has impressed in the creative midfield role this season, something he was not been allowed to play in, back at Madrid.
Real have already parted ways with one of their other midfield prospects this summer – Matteo Kovacic to Chelsea for £40m. They are likely to charge a similar sum for Ceballos who is still very young.
Right now, Ceballos might still hold a desire to return to his home country but over the course of the season, his mind could change. The Arsenal chiefs are encouraging to consider staying longer than June 2020.
Unai Emery has already made Mesut Ozil an outcast and without Ceballos, the midfield would really lack any creative output.
