Arsenal are looking to offload Konstantinos Mavropanos and Shkodran Mustafi this January.

The Gunners have a massive defensive overhaul to work on and it looks like the beginning of what can be a massive clearance at the Emirates.

Currently amongst the centre backs in Arsenal, they have Mustafi, Mavropanos, Luiz, Sokratis, Chambers and Holding. They are all decent defenders for maybe a mid-table PL team.

However, at Arsenal where Mikel Arteta wants to rebuild the top team culture, these players definitely do not make the cut. Maybe the worst of the lot is Mustafi and Mavropanos.

Hence, naturally, they are looking to be offloaded by the Gunners. However, for the youngster Mavropanos there is still hope for the future and hence he will most likely be loaned out rather than sold like Saliba has been by the Gunners.

As for Mustafi, the writing is on the wall. However, this is not the first attempt from the Gunners to sell him. Throghout the summer, he was up for sale yet not a single suitor came down to London for him.

It is now believed Mustafi has replaced his father with a professional agent and Arsenal are hopeful this might help the centre back broker some deal.
