According to French TV channel, TF1 Arsenal have made a £72m bid for Lille star Nicolas Pepe. The 24-year-old has alerted a bunch of clubs after putting up impressive displays, scoring 22 goals and registering 11 assists in the process.

However, Arsenal won’t have an easy path to signing Pepe, as Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also interested in the player’s signature. He is said to be personally interested in a move to Paris Saint Germain albeit the club haven’t yet made any offer.

Arsenal are reportedly chasing Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha but have baulked at the £80m price tag. The links to Nicolas Pepe also come as a surprise given that Unai Emery has been handed only £45m as transfer war-chest this summer.
