Arsenal Manager's Pest Still Has 2 Allies In The Dressing Room

Mesut Ozil might not in the long term plans of Unai Emery but he is still a popular character in the dressing room.

According to the Metro, the German midfielder is very good friends with his compatriot, Shkodran Mustafi and Swiss international, Granit Xhaka.

The report claims that Ozil is hardly noticed in training but he continues to maintain good terms with all of his teammates. There has never been a lack of support from the Gunners players shown towards the 30-year-old.

Ozil continues to get rotated around the starting lineup and could potentially be left out of Sunday’s fixture against Manchester United as well. He did make a start during Arsenal’s 3-1 Europa League defeat on Thursday but could hardly make a favourable impression.

With his contract set to run till the summer of 2021, it is still unclear whether he will continue as an Arsenal player beyond this season especially with Emery eyeing up new players of his own.

The manager has not come out to the press blaming Ozil but he has not revealed the real reason behind benching the German either. It has been abundantly clear that the two are not getting along at the Emirates.
