Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a midfielder for Lazio, may be tempted to leave for Premier League powerhouse Arsenal as the January transfer window approaches.
According to current plans, the Serbian international’s deal with the capital club would end in the summer of 2024. Despite the 27-year-best old’s entourage’s efforts to secure a buyer during the winter transfer window, many of the major teams are unwilling to meet his rumoured 120 million euro asking price.
Arsenal initially expressed interest, but Milinkovic-Savic quickly disregarded them because they were not participating in the Europa League. However, given the Gunners’ unblemished record this season, it is very possible that the central playmaker will change his mind.
The captain might be persuaded to transfer to the Emirates stadium if Arsenal makes a formal offer because they are currently leading the league, five points ahead of Manchester City, the defending Premier League champions.
The Serbian international has been outstanding for the Biancocelesti so far this season, contributing three goals and seven assists in 14 Serie A games.
Since Lazio may not earn a sizable chunk of money as his contract nears expiration, cashing out while there is interest from a major club would be their wisest course of action.
