Arsenal’s summer transfer season has not gotten off to a good start as they appear to have lost out to Benfica on one of their key targets

Despite several rumours linking Arsenal to a number of midfielders, the team has not yet signed any contracts for their acquisitions. According to reports, the Gunners have been in negotiations to sign players like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, which may have impeded their pursuit of other targets.

Orkun Kokcu was a player in whom Arsenal showed tremendous interest for a long time. It was inevitable that he would join Arsenal’s team after leading Feyenoord to victory in the Dutch League.

But because Arsenal took its time, Benfica was able to jump in and hire him, according to Record.

The midfielder, who was instrumental in Feyenoord winning the league last season, is anticipated to sign for £30 million.

Kokcu, who has been among the best players in Europe in recent years, deserved to join a major team. While Benfica is undoubtedly one, we are a larger team and must now make sure to recruit a much better player for our team.
