The Daily Mail claims Arsenal are chasing Red Bull Salzburg attacker, Hwang Hee-chan.
The South Korean gained attention this past week during Salzburg’s 4-3 defeat against Liverpool.
He scored his team’s opening goal to mount a comeback after going 3-0 down. His goal went viral on the internet after the 23-year-old managed to turn Virgil Van Dijk inside out with a fake and then firing in the shot.
Hwang has scored 7 goals in 11 games this season and is reportedly being monitored by a number of other European outfits. He can play in any of the final three positions and will be without a contract this summer.
That means Arsenal or any other Premier League side could approach him with pre-contract terms in January. Hwang’s development over the past few years has been meteoric with the attacker already registering 23 caps for South Korea.
He is friends with Tottenham Hotspurs’ Heung-Min Son and could be encouraged into making the switch to England. Arsenal are facing competition from Crystal Palace, who could turn up their efforts to sign Hwang if they lose Wilfried Zaha in the near future.
Arsenal return to action on 21 October against Sheffield United after the international break.
