Lacazette is at the end of his deal in the summer, and is likely to move on from the Premier League as Arsenal show no interest to extend new contract

According to Goal.com, Arsenal will not renew Lacazette, who is wanted by Lyon in France and president Jean-Michel Aulas admitted as much in a press conference.

The France international striker left his hometown club for north London in the summer of 2017, but he may be able to retrace his tracks now that he is five years older.

Alexandre Lacazette is expected to return to Lyon when he becomes a free agent in the summer, with Arsenal unlikely to extend a new deal to the 30-year-old France international.

The Gunners enticed a proven talent away from Ligue 1 in the summer of 2017, but he may be able to retrace his tracks five years later.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has pledged to leave the door open for Lacazette, with a player who previously scored 129 goals in 275 games regarded a more realistic target than Karim Benzema – another former favourite fuelling exit chatter at Real Madrid.

Mikel Arteta has tried to avoid discussing Lacazette’s future plans in recent months, insisting the Spaniard will only reveal his intentions at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.

A parting of ways does, however, appear to be on the cards as no extension is in the pipeline for an experienced French frontman.
