Arsenal are in for Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron, as per Paraguayan journalist, Luís Enrique Pérez.
Mikel Arteta is keen to add to his midfield ranks next season and is already scouting players of his liking.
Almiron has definitely made an impression in the Premier League since his arrival in January 2019. The 26-year-old switched from MLS side, Atalanta United to the Magpies for a club-record of £21m.
He has been a regular at Tyneside ever since, scoring 6 and assiting 2 in 33 games this season. For an attacking midfielder, Almiron is wicked quick. His quick feet makes him a dangerous player on the break. The South American is also a quality dribbler who can break out of tight spaces with his craftiness.
If anything, Almiron could become a dangerous backup weapon for Arsenal. His talents would be put to better use in the Gunners offensive set up that it is currently at Newcastle.
Arsenal will need to back Arteta in the summer transfer window like they did with Unai Emery if they expect success to come quick. The Spaniard has already squeezed the best out of the current crop of players and some have been exposed as not good enough.
Arteta demands creativity in midfield and there is no guarantee over the futures of Mesut Ozil or Dani Ceballos. Reports claim the Gunners are chasing after Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey as well.
