Arsenal are interested in Chelsea striker Armando Broja, and want to sign him this summer

That’s right, the most implausible transfer rumour of the year has been hatched. Given his strong performance at Southampton, Chelsea should be eager to get Broja back to play for them next season.

Selling Broja to Arsenal sound like a ridiculous proposal, and the Gunners must be completely delusory if they believe they can persuade us to sell said the emotional Saints.

Broja is now on loan at Southampton, where he is making an impression. The Saints, who want to acquire him outright, are up against the Gunners in the battle to sign him.

They claim that Mikel Arteta’s team is keeping an eye on his progress at St Mary’s in anticipation for a potential move. Arsenal have put the English-born Albanian international on their wishlist after missing out on January target Dusan Vlahovic.

Arsenal face stiff competition from Chelsea to sign Broja but as thing stand, for the foreseeable future, Romelu Lukaku will be Chelsea’s first choice striker, but there are plenty of appearances to go around, and Broja may expect to earn lots of playing time, with the long term goal of replacing Lukaku.

Arteta, who has made signing a centre-forward his primary goal this summer, is thought to have great admiration for Broja.
