The Gunners are already understaffed in various departments and that issue is expected to be heightened this summer. Three of the club’s senior team stars, Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech and Stephan Lichtsteiner will be released after the completion of their last contracts.
Cech is due to retire from professional football for good. The Europa League final against his old side, Chelsea was the last game he ever will play as he is touted to join their backroom staff from the next season.
Aaron Ramsey’s departure for Juventus was announced way back when he agreed on a £400,000-per-week contract with the Serie A giants. The Gunners are also set to release left-back, Cohen Bramall, midfielder, Charlie Gilmour, and Spanish defender, Julio Pleguezuelo.
Ramsey’s Emirates exit will probably hurt the most after the level of impact he has had on the team this past season. Arsenal might have to dish out millions to even begin to replace the 28-year-old Welshman.
Lichtsteiner has made 23 appearances this past season and will be leaving North London after only a season with the Gunners.
A brief statement from the club read, “We thank them all for their contributions to the club and we wish them every future success.”
