Arsenal have joined a long list of European clubs in monitoring 18-year-old Orkun Kokcu.
The teenager plies his trade for Eredivisie outfit, Feyenoord and has made a quick impression after breaking through to the senior squad.
Kokcu managed 7 goals and assists last season and has already netted the ball twice this term. He is of Turkish origin but was born in the Netherlands. He represented Holland at U18 and U19 level but he has switched his allegiance to Turkey now, earning his first cap for the U21s.
Feyenoord reportedly could be convinced with a £20m offer as Arsenal scouts out options for a long-term Mesut Ozil replacement. Unai Emery is ready to part ways with the German permanently but it is his mammoth £350,000-per-week wages which is stalling any possibilities of an Emirates exit.
Reports emerged last night that Fenerbahce was open to taking Ozil off of Arsenal’s hands. The Gunners are ready to pay a part of his salary just to successfully conclude a loan deal in January.
Emery has Dani Ceballos to work with in the creative midfield spot but he will need to line up potential replacement soon enough. Ceballos is only at North London till the end of the season and is eager to return to Real Madrid.
