Recent reports claim that Arsenal have begun negotiations over a £40m move for Boca Juniors winger, Cristian Pavon.

The Gunners have been pursuing the 22-year-old for quite some time now and are finally taking the steps to get him. Pavon’s contract with Boca Juniors is set to run till the summer or 2022. He has featured for Argentina in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and currently has 11 caps to his name.

Injury to the hamstring has kept out of action for some time but there is no denying the winger’s footballing talent. He is versatile on the attacking front and has the pace to beat defenders on the dribble.

Pavon started out with his hometown club, Talleres de Cordoba before joining the South American Giants in 2014. Pavon has made over 70 league appearances and scored 19 goals during his time with the club.

Pavon has higher ambitions of moving to Europe to further his playing career just like his compatriot, Lionel Messi.

Premier League newcomers, Fulham have also registered an interest in Pavon. However, they might have a hard time trying to match Boca’s asking price.

Arsenal on the other hand desperately need a winger like Pavon. The Argentine will offer Emery a different dynamic to work with on the offensive end.
