According to the latest reports, Marseille are one club who are keen on taking Matteo Guendouzi this summer.
The Ligue 1 outfit has reportedly called with talks of a loan deal for Guendouzi.
It is common knowledge that the Frenchman does not fit into Mikel Arteta’s plans at Arsenal anymore, despite the coach claiming to have given every player a clean slate this season. Several altercations later, Guendouzi’s future at North London seems to be over and an exit is imminent.
Problem is not many clubs have come forward with an acceptable offer this window. Arsenal ideally wanted to move him out for a decent sum of cash but almost nobody is ready to meet their valuation of the player. The funds raised from his sale could have gone into signing newer faces.
Marseille’s loan offer could be enticing so late into the transfer window. The 21-year-old has reportedly already turned down Villarreal, Hertha Berlin, Valencia and Real Betis. A move back to France could be more agreeable which works in Marseille’s favour.
This would be a better option than Guendouzi staying for one more season and rotting on the sidelines. A loan spell would be more beneficial in the long run. If anything, his value could increase and the player could be moved on for a higher sum next summer.
