David Raya arrived at Arsenal on a season-long loan from Brentford.
The Gunners paid an initial £3m loan fee for the Spanish goalkeeper and agreed on a price of £27m for a permanent deal in the summer.
Since his arrival last summer, Raya has replaced Aaron Ramsdale as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Raya has started every game in the Premier League and Champions League except for the game against PSV and a league tie against his parent club Brentford as he was ineligible to play.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are set to confirm the £27million permanent switch of the 28-year-old goalkeeper.
The Gunners will soon be announcing the permanent transfer of David Raya to the Emirates.
“It will be soon. From what I’ve heard, it’s already agreed, so I don’t know when they will make it official,” Romano told Give Me Sport.
“It’s something that they already agreed in the summer. The Raya deal was going to be permanent at the beginning, but they had to change the structure of the deal because of Financial Fair Play. Brentford decided to help Arsenal with that, but it is not going to change anything. The deal will be made permanent.”
