Arsenal Target Amadou Diawara Asking Price Drops

Arsenal’s midfield target Amadou Diawara is also being chased by Tottenham, Leicester City and West Ham United.

AS Roma only want £15 million for him after not seeing their valuation met last summer.

Diawara was touted to join a Premier League side all of August but he ended up staying put at Roma. He was signed for £19.5 million from Napoli but has fallen out of favour for the Giallorossi. The Guinea international has featured in just 4 Serie A games this season.

At 23, he still has a lot of potential to star for another club. He is capable defensively or playing in a box-to-box role in midfield. Arsenal signing him would probably come at the cost of someone leaving. Granit Xhaka has consistently poor for the Gunners and is tipped to leave.

Diawara’s agent, Daniele Piraino was already fed up with Roma when his client was made to sit through a draw against Juventus last season. He told Tuttomercatoweb.com: “It was a real displeasure for Amadou that the club forgot to list him in the squad [at Verona].

“The fact it’s been made out to be the ‘Diawara Incident’ is a shame, because he certainly didn’t appreciate that and the responsibility isn’t his own. We want clarity on Amadou’s true role and importance within the club’s project.”

If Arsenal were to sign him, he won’t come easily. The club are in a difficult spot and could do with more creative talent than Diawara.
